Certified Translation Services for Immigration and Official Use
USCIS requires a certified English translation of every foreign-language document you submit with your filing. ITC delivers translations designed to meet that requirement, backed by a notarized certificate of accuracy and a process built on human expertise. Since 1969, thousands of individuals, families, and immigration attorneys have trusted ITC with their most important documents.
USCIS-Accepted Certified Translation
When you submit a foreign-language document to USCIS, NVC, or a US consulate, you must include a complete English translation and a signed certificate from the translator attesting that the translation is accurate and that they are competent to translate it. ITC provides both: a complete, accurate translation that is faithful to the source, produced by a qualified native-speaking linguist, plus a notarized certificate of accuracy that meets USCIS translation requirements.
Every certified translation ITC delivers includes:
- A complete, accurate English translation of your source document
- A notarized certificate of accuracy attesting that the translation is faithful to the source and the translator is competent
- Digital delivery by default, with printed and notarized hard copy available on request
USCIS does not certify or approve individual translators. What matters is the deliverable: a complete translation accompanied by a properly executed certificate of accuracy. That is what ITC provides on every project.
Documents We Translate for Immigration
If your filing requires it, we translate it. The most common documents include:
Birth Certificates
The most frequently translated document for USCIS filings. ITC translates birth certificates from every country, formatted to match the original layout, with all seals, stamps, and marginal notes rendered in English. Learn more about birth certificate translation.
Marriage Licenses and Certificates
Marriage certificates for spouse visas, family-based petitions, and name-change documentation. We translate both the certificate and any accompanying civil registry documents.
Divorce Decrees
Final divorce judgments for remarriage-based petitions, removal of conditions, and beneficiary filings. We translate the full decree including case numbers, judicial findings, and orders.
Police Records and Criminal Background Checks
Clearance letters, conduct certificates, and police background checks from every country that issues them. These documents are time-sensitive for immigration purposes; we deliver on your deadline.
Academic Transcripts and Diplomas
For employment-based petitions, student visas, and credential evaluations. We translate transcripts, diplomas, course descriptions, and grading explanations with attention to institutional terminology.
Death Certificates
For survivor benefits, estate proceedings, and family-based petitions requiring proof of relationship termination.
Medical and Vaccination Records
For I-693 medical exams, vaccination histories, and health-related inadmissibility waivers. These documents are handled under strict confidentiality controls.
Court Orders and Legal Dispositions
Custody orders, adoption decrees, name-change orders, and court judgments required to establish eligibility or respond to Requests for Evidence.
Financial and Tax Documents
Bank statements, tax returns, employment letters, and pay stubs for affidavit of support submissions and employment verification.
The USCIS Translation Requirement
USCIS policy is straightforward: any document containing foreign language submitted as part of your filing must be accompanied by a full English translation and a certificate from the translator confirming competence and accuracy. The translator does not need to hold any specific government credential, and USCIS does not certify translators.
What USCIS evaluates is whether the translation is complete and whether the certificate of accuracy is properly executed. A missing or incomplete certificate is one of the most common reasons translations are rejected. ITC eliminates that risk: every translation ships with a signed, notarized certificate of accuracy that meets the USCIS requirement.
Your ITC translation is also accepted by the National Visa Center (NVC) and US embassies and consulates for consular processing. If your filing requires apostille coordination for the original document, let us know and we will guide you through that process.
Turnaround Tiers: Standard, Expedited, and Rush
Immigration deadlines are real. Whether you are filing on a standard timeline or responding to a Request for Evidence with a fixed response window, ITC offers three turnaround options:
- Standard: Typical delivery for common document types in common languages. Best when you have a planned filing date.
- Expedited: Faster delivery when your filing window is tight but not critical. Usually trims one to two business days off standard.
- Rush: Same-day or next-day delivery for RFE responses, interview dates, and filing deadlines that cannot move. Rush availability depends on language and document complexity.
Tell us your deadline when you request a quote. We will confirm the right tier and delivery date before work begins.
How ITC Delivers Certified Translation
Every certified translation follows the same multi-step process, regardless of language or document type:
- Translation by a qualified native-speaking linguist assigned to your document’s language and subject matter.
- Independent proofreading by a second linguist who reviews the translation against the source document for accuracy, terminology, and completeness.
- Quality assurance review to confirm the final translation matches your project requirements before delivery.
- Notarized certificate of accuracy signed and stamped, included with every certified translation.
A qualified translator is the starting point. What guarantees the result is the process layered above them: independent proofreading, QA review, and notarized certification on every project.
